Carrapateena STATCOM Installation Progressing Well
In late July 2018 RXHK signed a contract with OZ Minerals for the design and supply of two off ±15Mvar Maxivar STATCOMs plus four off 10Mvar capacitor banks. The equipment is to control the 132kV point of connection for the Carrapateena mine in order to ensure grid connection compliance.
Installation at the Carrapateena mine site is now well underway. The image below shows the two STATCOM containers in place at the site.
The capacitor banks for this project were procured by RXHK from Guilin Power Capacitor Co. ltd, a subsidiary of RXHK's largest shareholder, Baiyun Power Group.
